I am excited about Summer! Mostly because it is a time of renewal and relaxation. Many of you may be planning summer vacations and holidays with your family and friends. Some will choose exotic get-a-ways while others will plan staycations closer to home. Regardless of the method, vacation is always a welcomed time! One of the things I also like to do during my free time in summer is to analyze whether I’ve accomplished the goals and objectives that I set for myself at the beginning of the year - this is sort of my half-way point. Spiritual goals and life goals are evaluated and prayed over to ensure that my goals line up with the plans that God has for me. What do I need to work harder in, what or whom do I need to filter out of my life? How can I use my time off wisely and accomplish more for the kingdom?
I encourage you to take a little time this summer to revisit your 2010 goals, to take time to build up the relationships around you, and to use your time to the best of your ability by being fruitful and faithful.
In this issue of WOW! we hope you will enjoy my interview with Erica Hubbard of ABC Family’s Lincoln Heights - Erica has a wonderful spirit and she is managing to balance her fame with faith. Also, I had the opportunity to interview First Lady Theresa Whitfield who survived a brutal attack in the ladies room of her church one Sunday morning - a must read story of courage and forgiveness.
We are also pleased to announce our first annual Summer Short Story Contest 2010 winner- Ashea Goldson. Thanks to all of the people who took the time to submit stories - hope to hear from you for next year’s contest!
